To comply with IRS reporting requirements, the Ingham County Junior Livestock Association (JLA) must have a completed W-9 on file for all market exhibitors. The JLA has been advised by Bruce Kaye, JD/CPA, PLLC, that a 1099-MISC must be issued to exhibitors receiving more than $2,000 in livestock sale proceeds.
To complete your W-9:
Sign in to ShoWorks.
Add an entry in the JLA W-9 division.
Click Finish Entry and complete your W-9 through ShoWorks' secure, encrypted system.
If you prefer, the W-9 may be completed using a parent or guardian's information.
If a W-9 is not received by August 14, you will receive an initial payment of $1,999.
The remaining balance will be held until a completed W-9 is received.
After ShoWorks closes, paper W-9s may be submitted to the Fair Office. The remaining balance will then be issued, less a $25 administrative fee.
W-9 forms must be received by December 13 to receive the remaining balance. Funds remaining after that date will be considered forfeited to the JLA.
